The full real 8.6 map, plus cities and hunts nobody had seen before. The combat you know, with no stair exhaust and no shared exhaust between potions and spells, and no weapon, equipment, rune or spell asks for your level.
The open beta is ending. On Saturday at 17:00 (Chile) we close the game, wipe the characters and at 18:00 we open a brand new world. Your account is kept: create it now and you can jump right in on Saturday. Otera Coins earned by reporting bugs are given back to you.

Otera on your phone
Play on your phone. Nothing to download.
The same Otera client, in your phone's browser: the same world, the same account and the same characters. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app, full screen.

Your backpack, one tap away
It opens as a large sheet: tap an item to use it and drag it to equip it.
The map and its travel
Search for a respawn, a city or an NPC and tap it to travel. The buttons are big, made for your finger.
Controls made for your thumb.
- A joystick that walks straight and only steps diagonally around what blocks your way, and an Attack button that targets the nearest monster.
- Tapping the screen uses what you touch: you climb stairs, open doors and corpses, and on a hole it uses your rope or shovel.
- Thirteen buttons for your spells, runes and potions. Hold one down to change it.
- Health and mana always in sight; the map, chat and backpack in the top bar. The top-left button hides the controls.
- Three fingers zoom the map in or out. Tapping a text field opens the keyboard.
- Start on your phone and carry on on your PC: it is the same character.

The first time it downloads the world, about 115 MB: Wi-Fi is better. After that it opens in seconds. Voice chat, for now, is only in the desktop client.

The real map. And what nobody had seen.
The whole 8.6 map with its quests, plus zones built for Otera: cities, hunts and bosses with their own art, monsters and loot.
Shirasagi
A samurai castle town in the northeastern sea. Ashigaru, kyudoka and samurai all the way up to the Shogun's tower.
Minas Morgul
An island in endless night. Nazgul on every ring of the citadel and, in its nest, the Witch-king of Angmar.
Black Dragon Lair
Behind the Fury Gate of Edron, a volcanic cavern with the Black Dragons: stronger than a demon.

The rules
No exhaust. No level required.
The 8.6 mechanics, without the brakes that add nothing. What you get, you use; what you do happens when you ask for it.
Free stairs
Going up or down a floor does not leave you pacified: your attack, spells and runes go off at once.
Separate potions
A potion does not share exhaust with exura, utani hur or rune making, and using one does not cost you your attack.
Weapons and equipment
No weapon, armor, shield, ring or amulet asks for a level. If you get it, you wear it.
Runes and spells
Runes ask only for magic level; spells, for magic level and vocation. Never for your character level.
Classic combat
Half damage between players, a 60-second PZ lock, a 15-minute white skull, and dying costs items.
A curve without walls
15x up to level 8, then a curve that goes down from 10x to 4x at level 200, with no steps.
Vocations
Four vocations. None to spare.
Each vocation has a job in the party and its own tweak over 8.6. These are four real game sessions in the Otera client.

Elite Knight · Front line
The one who holds the hunt.
Blocks, gathers the monsters and hits in an area. In Otera the knight has something of its own against the mages.
- +15% melee damage and +15% armor over 8.6.
- Exura scales with level: 70 to 107 health at level 100.
- Attacks every 1.8 seconds, like the paladin.

Royal Paladin · Ranged
Bolts, runes and patience.
Hits from afar and mixes ammunition with runes. The HMM is the everyday rune again.
- The HMM deals more damage per mana than exori con, and explodes like in 7.4.
- A quiver in the shield hand holds backup ammunition.
- Conjured power bolts: 50 for 350 mana.

Master Sorcerer · Pure damage
The SD is the SD again.
7.x-style formulas: level and magic level weigh together, and the balance between runes holds at any level.
- Sudden death hits three times as hard as a GFB, at level 20 or at level 200.
- The SD hit is the black ball from 7.x.
- Open PvP: damage between players is halved, like in 8.6.

Elder Druid · Support and control
The party lives because there is a druid.
Health potions stop at the health potion: strong healing comes from runes and spells.
- Poison Storm: 70% of a UE for 70% of its mana.
- UH and IH scale with level and magic level.
- Party: +30% with two players, +60% with three and +100% from four.

Rune making is still a craft.
Runes are made by hand and sold between players. NPCs sell them as a backup, but never buy them back.

Rune spells ask for magic level, vocation, mana and soul, as always. Your backpack fills up without dropping anything on the floor.
Travel from the map
Less travel time. More adventure.
Open the map, pick a respawn or a city and right-click. Three seconds of spiral and you are at the entrance. Free, on Free accounts too.

Search, look and choose.
Each respawn shows its creatures and floor. The search box finds cities, monsters, shops and raids.
YOUR TRIP · REAL CLIENT
If you move or take damage during the spiral, the trip is cancelled. There is a 3-minute wait between trips.
Quests
All your quests. One window.
Every quest with its reward, its place and its missions. The ones you start are tracked on their own in the side panel, and the map shows where your next step is.

Addons
Every material, counted for you.
The addon window lists the 36 addons you get by collecting materials: who gives them, what they ask for and how much you have.

- It counts what you carry and what you keep in the depot, plus what you already handed to the NPC.
- Follow the ones you want: they stay in the side panel and update on their own as you loot.
- No material asks for more than about 300 kills of the best monster that drops it.
- In the loot message, materials carry the (addon) tag.
AFK training

The hunt ends. The training goes on.
Hunting fills your breath. With breath, AFK training raises skills and magic level at twice the world rate, on its own and without hidden trainers.

Proximity voice
Talk to whoever is near you, or to your party at any distance. You can turn it off whenever you want.
Quick loot PREMIUM
Right-click the glowing corpse and the loot goes to your backpack. With Premium, on kill and sorted into bags by category.
Raids and rifts
A raid every 45 to 60 minutes, with a leader and a bag to share. Temporary rifts that adapt to your level.
Weapons with a story
A mage staff used with a shield, three knight weapons with holy damage and an elven crossbow with critical hits.

What is worth knowing.
Do I need Premium to play everything?
No. Free includes all content: map travel, boats, promotions, spells, houses, market and automatic looting. Premium adds +10% experience, a higher loot chance, loot containers by category and a larger breath reserve.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes, in the browser: open jugar.oteraot.com in Safari or Chrome and log in with your usual account. To play full screen, add it to your home screen. It is the same server and the same character as on your PC.
Can I track several quests at once?
Yes. The quests you start are tracked automatically, up to five, in the side panel. From the quest window you can follow others, see them on the map or travel nearby.
Does the addon tracker check my depot?
Yes. It counts what you carry, your depot boxes and inbox, and what you already handed to the NPC.
Can I train AFK without a limit?
No. Training uses breath, and breath is earned by hunting. Premium enlarges the reserve but does not fill it faster.
Is voice chat mandatory?
No. It comes with the client and turns off with one click. You can mute yourself or mute another player.
